Denmark Diet | End

sorry to disappoint anyone, but i had to stop my diet yesterday. why? because i'm going to be pulling all-nighters for the next few days...and i don't think i'll have the strength to function if i stick with the diet (let alone the extra time it takes to shop & prepare).

but. i really liked my progress and i'm going to continue once spring break starts. then i can actually exercise while dieting. my winter quarter isn't going as smoothly as i promised to myself last quarter, but can't do anything about it now. if you can't avoid it, enjoy it. let's all pray for the better in the future.

other than that, i'm going to take a 5-hour energy drink for the first time tonight. but i'm a bit worried because i'm used to drinking a lot of caffeine...what if it doesn't work ;A;

for those who tried it, how was the drink's effect on you? is there really no crash?

one last thing. i'm contemplating...but i'll most likely stop blogging and start everything on tumblr. why? because it's going to become the new facebook and twitter, probably by next year. i think twitter first, then tumblr.

until friday then. shalom.

Denmark Diet | Day 5

unicorn asked:

"Omg I would love to try a diet like this but my sister hates the smell of boiled egg and my father wouldn't be happy with me going on an actual diet. Could you recommend anything to do with food, I think I already have excersise down I lost half a stone ~"

first, thank you for commenting :) it's awesome that you have exercising down (unlike me ;A;). but i don't really know how i can answer this question because i haven't tried that many diets either.
normally, i like to go on korean websites for different types of diets because i'm (obviously) korean and the types of food i eat are...indeed korean. i found information about the Denmark Diet in this korean website called m2slim (and it can be translated through google here). they talk about apple diet, kimchi diet, banana diet, milk diet, seaweed diet, sweet potato diet, water diet, brown rice diet, watermelon diet, tofu diet, atkins diet...etc. personally, i think in the future, i would try the apple diet and the tofu diet. the brown rice diet should totally be long-term for all asians...
anyways. hopefully that was helpful. if you have any more questions feel free to ask me. i know the translations suck, so i'll be happy to translate them for anyone who wants them :D just ask me~
-

so i had fruit (other than grapefruit) for the first time in a while, and omfg it was so freaking sweet. and i mean this both in a good way and a bad way. at first i was super excited because it tasted heavenly (i had an apple & a banana) but after a while, it was too sweet it made my mouth feel heavy.

but again, another successful day... today it was especially hard because it was saturday, which means internship training day. meaning, 4 hours of sitting and listening to guest speakers. meaning, having breaks before and after the speakers. meaning rest breaks. meaning food. meaning crackers, muffins, juice, chocolate, nachos, salsa. faaaaak ;A;

nonetheless, it wasn't that bad.....................but. i can't believe i only completed day 5. it feels so much longer...

some things i'm noticing. i don't know if it was my bad eating habits prior to starting the diet, but i feel lighter and more awake. i used to think that i had a sleeping disorder (over sleepiness) but now i'm thinking that was all due to my horrible eating habits. i stepped on the scale last night, and i was 1kg (or 2lbs) lower. but that's hardly anything, and it doesn't really say much.

Denmark Diet | Day 4

i think it's about this time in your diet that you get tempted to eat the foods you've been avoiding.

a close unnie of mine gave me bag of chip ahoy cookies and naked juice for just being the great unnie she is...except ugh obviously i can't eat because i am on this diet. not only that, but the bananas on the table looked so good and my sister made chicken ravioli for dinner ;A; but. i stuck through and didn't give up... it's 11:57pm right now, and my stomach is growling /whines.

tomorrow is going to be a busy day (or today now - 12:22am)...

Denmark Diet | Day 3

just updating.

finished eating lunch and followed the meal plan. i haven't cheated, though i did get tempted... a word of advice, stay away from the refrigerator... or just the kitchen in general.

i know i said i was going to exercise today but i actually have a lot of assignments to finish... actually, i went to the gym and found out i forgot my shoes T_T

nothing else much...though i haven't done number 2 in the bathroom for some time /leaves and comes back/ lulz.

so i just recently watched mblaq's 'cry' mv and i love it. the two clips are my favorite parts in the mv. i love the choreography and thunder's face...so heartbreaking. never cry thunder.

Denmark Diet | Day 2

so i want to keep this short.

my first day was successful~! yay.
i thought it was pretty good, i was actually full (except at dinner i felt...like i was missing something)? i didn't exercise though, because i was busy with school. but i know i'm going to start on thursday.

right now, i just had lunch: 2 hard-boiled eggs, toast, grapefruit and coffee. i don't know about anyone else that tried this diet, but the grapefruit really makes you filled...

couple things i forgot to mention in the previous post was that:
1. you cannot eat or drink anything else that is not listed on the meal plan, except water (and that includes gum!)
2. as for the salad, you can have a variety of vegetables (carrots, spring mix, spinach...etc), but just make sure it's only vegetable when it says 'vegetable salad'. in just 'salad', you can include tomatoes.
3. if you are get hungry between meals, you can have another black coffee. one thing to keep in mind is that your coffee shouldn't be so strong. keep it light, almost like tea.

i haven't started measuring myself yet...i'll probably do so after friday or something.
also, my friend judith decided to go on this diet with me~ it's good to have a buddy to keep you motivated as well~ good luck everyone.

Denmark Diet | Day 1

oh em gee. i'm updating.
but this is purely for the sake of me being motivated in keeping my diet.

so i just started the denmark diet, but it's more like a korean denmark diet because i heard that people in denmark have not even heard of this diet (the denmark diet is a extremely popular in korea). this diet was planned by the denmark state hospital and it concentrates on keeping the foods you eat to have high protein, low fat and low cholesterol. you are expected to exercise while doing this diet (though a lot of koreans did this for the sake of not exercising, lulz).

the diet runs for 14 days and people who have done this diet lost an average of 7~12kg (15~26lbs). that's huge considering it's just within 14 days. generally, a healthy weight loss is considered about 1kg (2.2lbs) a week.

Meal Plan:

Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
Day 1
3 boiled eggs
1 grapefruit
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
3 boiled eggs
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
3 boiled eggs
vegetable salad (cucumber, celery, lettuce)
Day 2
1 boiled egg
1 grapefruit
1 black coffee
2 boiled eggs
1 grapefruit
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
beef steak
salad (tomato, celery, cucumber, lettuce)
1 black coffee
Day 3
1 boiled egg
1 grapefruit
1 black coffee
vegetable salad
1 grapefruit
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
2 boiled eggs
lamb meat (can be substituded with chicken meat)
salad
1 black coffee
Day 4
1 boiled egg
1 grapefruit
1 black coffee
vegetable salad
1 grapefruit
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
spinich (dressed with a little bit of garlic and salt, and add cheese)
1 black coffee
Day 5
1 boiled egg
1 cucumber
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
3 boiled eggs
spinich (like before)
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
fish (white meat)
vegetable salad
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
Day 6
2 boiled eggs
1 grapefruit
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
fruit salad (cucumber, lettuce, apple, strawberry, banana)
beef steak
celery
tomato
1 black coffee
Day 7
2 boiled eggs
1 grapefruit
1 black coffee
cold chicken meat
1 tomato
1 cucumber
1 black coffee
vegetable soup (tomato, onion, carrot, lettuce)
chicken meat
tomato
cooked lettuce
celery
1 grapefruit
1 black coffee

and then you repeat the cycle once more equaling 14 days.

a few (important!) things to note are (unless listed else above):
1. no salt (in egg, steak, chicken, fish...etc)
2. drink your coffee black (no sugar, milk, cream)
3. steam or cooked meat, nothing fried (also no butter or jam for toast)
4. exercise (especially to avoid yo-yo dieting)
5. no dressing in salads (only acceptable are vinegar and lemon juice)

it doesn't sound that bad, right? but i'm not starving myself or doing that crazy one-food diet. of course keeping your weight off is more important than actually losing it, but i think this is pretty legit. and i also think it's a good preparation for a long-term diet and also eating healthier. the proportions get smaller and in general i think you'd be more sensitive to what you eat.

a famous korean celebrity that did the denmark diet was nicole from kara. here are two before & after pics.

DDDD: amazing. though i think she was in a more restrictive diet (like smaller proportions). and she also had a professional fitness trainer to boost (and let's not forget TIME). but aren't these pictures super inspiring?

so. i started today and so far i just had breakfast that was listed in the plan. though i like eggs, i can understand how difficult this diet would be if he or she didn't like eggs... but remember that this diet is extremely precise and strict, if you forget or eat something other than what was listed in the plan, you are to start the whole diet again from day 1. and it's also not suggested to do this diet often (for obvious reasons). my co-worker told me only twice every year (though don't expect to lose the same amount as you did the first time).

pictures to inspire me (lulz):

jeon ji-hyun. because i love this lady to pieces.
kim sa-rang is so flipping gorgeous. life is unfair.

yoon eun-hye <333

always thought that son dam-bi had a fab-bod.

i just had to. sungyeol is so effing cute XD

[but not completely irrelevant since he lost a lot of weight for BTD promotions~]

if you guys have any questions regarding the plan, i'll try to answer the best way i can. just know that i'm also pretty much noob ^^;

so anyone want to start with me?

110215

hi guys...

so, you can judge by this just how uncommitted i am to these sorts of things. so now i won't make any promises. i will post whenever i feel like i want to or have something to say.

a lot has happened since the latter months of 2010. and i must discuss.

first, 'mary stayed out all night' sucked to the extreme. who knew stuff like that could come out from such works that included many talented actors and actresses in the korean industry. like, i heard geun-suk's character was suppose the die in the last episode?(!) what the heck.
second,  'secret garden' was fantastic. i'm was '주원앓이' (aka. beingcrazyinlovewithhyunbin) for like the longest time. though i'm over it now (although i did start 'World Within' (aka. '그들이 사는 세상'). i recommend everyone to watch SG. it's full of laughs, tears, excitement. it's just pure entertainment. i loved it to the max.
third, i'm now not as into beast as i used to be. but, i'm really into infinite!!!! don't get me wrong, i still love beast and all, but infinite is really great. maybe it's because beast isn't promoting right now... i'm currently obsessed with sungyeol, myungsoo, hoya and woohyun. sungkyu, dongwoo and sungjong is great too, but the other four are like, really my type... lol.

right now i'm in the second quarter of my school... and i'm really failing in my grades. i don't know how it's going to all be executed. currently totally cursing at myself for enrolling in the philosophy class in week 2. i never knew i hated philosophy so much, and i never go to class. it actually looks like i'm going to fail the class... so i'm going to talk to my TA. bah..

but there has been progress in my filmmaking career... i got to know some amazing people from this christian film festival group training class. the staff is more than wonderful and the guest speakers are A+. hopefully, i'm able to make a good impression and also learn a lot from the classes. doing stuff like this makes me wonder why i'm at school... i want to get started in my career already.

i'm also saving up money for a camera and a laptop (macbook pro) so that i can start making movies. i was thinking of submitting them to film festivals and other types of contests. also in addition to wanting to make films in korea and japan, i realized that i want to make films based on christian messages. i really think that's my calling. my dream is to become a pd in korea (and then pan out to japan) and make dramas/movies with christian based messages and ideas. especially since korean cinema and music is becoming so international...

other than that... i'm going to the korean music festival (kmf) this year as well. my friends and i are sitting in garden~ really excited. i'm also starving myself right now...lol. i'm really hoping that infinite attends...or mblaq. i don't really care much for other groups...though it would be great if beast comes. or big bang. or yunho and changmin. or even better, jyj (only because their ballads would make me cry).

for those of you guys going to kmf... which groups are you looking forward to at the concert?
