Denmark Diet | Day 1

oh em gee. i'm updating.
but this is purely for the sake of me being motivated in keeping my diet.

so i just started the denmark diet, but it's more like a korean denmark diet because i heard that people in denmark have not even heard of this diet (the denmark diet is a extremely popular in korea). this diet was planned by the denmark state hospital and it concentrates on keeping the foods you eat to have high protein, low fat and low cholesterol. you are expected to exercise while doing this diet (though a lot of koreans did this for the sake of not exercising, lulz).

the diet runs for 14 days and people who have done this diet lost an average of 7~12kg (15~26lbs). that's huge considering it's just within 14 days. generally, a healthy weight loss is considered about 1kg (2.2lbs) a week.

Meal Plan:

Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner
Day 1
3 boiled eggs
1 grapefruit
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
3 boiled eggs
1 slice of toast

Day 2
1 boiled egg

1 slice of toast
1 black coffee

1 black coffee
Day 3
1 boiled egg
1 grapefruit
1 black coffee
vegetable salad
1 grapefruit
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
2 boiled eggs
lamb meat (can be substituded with chicken meat)

1 black coffee
Day 4
1 boiled egg
1 grapefruit
1 black coffee
vegetable salad
1 grapefruit
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
spinich (dressed with a little bit of garlic and salt, and add cheese)
1 black coffee
Day 5
1 boiled egg
1 cucumber
1 slice of toast
1 black coffee
3 boiled eggs
spinich (like before)
1 slice of toast

1 black coffee
cold chicken meat
1 tomato
1 cucumber
1 black coffee
vegetable soup (tomato, onion, carrot, lettuce)
chicken meat
tomato
cooked lettuce
celery
1 grapefruit
1 black coffee

and then you repeat the cycle once more equaling 14 days.

a few (important!) things to note are (unless listed else above):
1. no salt (in egg, steak, chicken, fish...etc)
2. drink your coffee black (no sugar, milk, cream)
3. steam or cooked meat, nothing fried (also no butter or jam for toast)
4. exercise (especially to avoid yo-yo dieting)
5. no dressing in salads (only acceptable are vinegar and lemon juice)

it doesn't sound that bad, right? but i'm not starving myself or doing that crazy one-food diet. of course keeping your weight off is more important than actually losing it, but i think this is pretty legit. and i also think it's a good preparation for a long-term diet and also eating healthier. the proportions get smaller and in general i think you'd be more sensitive to what you eat.

a famous korean celebrity that did the denmark diet was nicole from kara. here are two before & after pics.

DDDD: amazing. though i think she was in a more restrictive diet (like smaller proportions). and she also had a professional fitness trainer to boost (and let's not forget TIME). but aren't these pictures super inspiring?

so. i started today and so far i just had breakfast that was listed in the plan. though i like eggs, i can understand how difficult this diet would be if he or she didn't like eggs... but remember that this diet is extremely precise and strict, if you forget or eat something other than what was listed in the plan, you are to start the whole diet again from day 1. and it's also not suggested to do this diet often (for obvious reasons). my co-worker told me only twice every year (though don't expect to lose the same amount as you did the first time).

pictures to inspire me (lulz):

jeon ji-hyun. because i love this lady to pieces.
kim sa-rang is so flipping gorgeous. life is unfair.

yoon eun-hye <333

always thought that son dam-bi had a fab-bod.

i just had to. sungyeol is so effing cute XD

[but not completely irrelevant since he lost a lot of weight for BTD promotions~]

if you guys have any questions regarding the plan, i'll try to answer the best way i can. just know that i'm also pretty much noob ^^;

so anyone want to start with me?

  1. Omg I would love to try a diet like this but my sister hates the smell of boiled egg and my father wouldn't be happy with me going on an actual diet. Could you recommend anything to do with food, I think I already have excersise down I lost half a stone ~{according to my scale}~ the last time I weighed myself but I feel as though I may have put it all back on! 。・゜・(ノД`)・゜・。

Sorry for the long comment, do not feel pressured to reply. Do it in your own time. *nods*

  9. A healthy Eating Plan for women of all ages is necessary because women have different nutritional and dietary needs than men.

  12. I did this diet in a similar way not long time ago. I recommend not to do this!! After a few days I felt really weak, I could not concentrate in school and I got panic attacks in the subway because someone was eating next to me. It's a very cruel diet and I did not lose that much weight. Try to eat healthy your whole life but don't go to hard on you. If you want to eat chocolate you should do it. There comes a day where you burn these calories.
Learn to love yourself and pay attention to what you eat but don't follow this diet plan it will ruin you.

    Love to all~

  14. This menu REALLY WORKS !
Lost 7kg in 13 days (with some cheating). I did it during holiday so I could rest more during the day as u might feel week on day -2 -3.
The meal plan actually fill my tummy up and a little too much for me so I actually reduced the amount of eggs at different times. Especially in the morning , cant really put that much food into my tummy.

Well, ideal thing is we eat like normal human being (or it is a perception).. That you could pick which nutrients u like your body to have.

But, this is like a starter or a remedy to tell u really you are what you eat. I dont care if it is water weight or what not. It really works! And the suggested method is only for less than 14 days. So please dont risk your health by doing this througout your life.

U could maintain the weight by having low salt diet, small exercise (perspire!!!!!) even do some housework or running errands burn some calories and get the heart pumping.

Pro and cons, think wisely ladies.
